There’s nothing wrong with musicians and artists showing their softer sides and giving thanks around the holidays.

In an effort to make you feel better about stuffing your face during this family-oriented, food-filled time of year, REVOLT talked to some of our favorite celebrities about their Thanksgiving day plans, meals they’ll be eating and what they’re thankful for.

Chicago rapper Lil Herb, now known as G Herbo, spent time with REVOLT recently to explain his thoughts on his mixtape Ballin Like I’m Kobe and helping his community strengthen itself and maturity. He credits the name change to mental growth: “I’m thankful for my success, my life and just really learning and maturing.”

G Herbo is thankful for all that he has accomplished thus far noting: “This is only the beginning. What I’ve been through isn’t any real success, this is just the beginning. It’s really just a matter of me being humble. I’m thankful for the work ethic and the grind.”

Child star of ABC’s hit show Black-ish, Miles Brown, is as cute as any 10-year-old could be, and aside from carrying himself like a mature and well-read mini man, he detailed his Thanksgiving plans like one as well. “The usual, at my grandma and grandpa’s house eating some turkey, some mashed potatoes, and macaroni salad. I’ll just eat everything in the world. It’s our day to be free and just eat!”

R&B and soul artist Tweet has largely been off the scene for last 10 years, dealing with personal issues like finding herself and re-establishing her genuine sound. Now, she’s prepping preparing for the January release of her new LP Charlene. Tweet told REVOLT what she is grateful for: “To still be here with a sound mind, I’m thankful for that.”

The “Classic Man,” Jidenna is going take off his shoes and relax his feet this holiday season after a whirlwind year of dancing and cementing his name as he told REVOLT, “I’m Nigerian, here’s how our Thanksgiving goes: Nigerian food and a big turkey in the middle of it.” He added, “I’ll probably be on the continent of Africa, enjoying myself and vacationing like the rest of the world should be.”

Ty Dolla $ign is fresh off the release of his full length LP, Free TC, and he told REVOLT he wants nothing more than to get his brother out of prison.

Even through all the struggle he’s faced with, Ty is giving thanks: “I’m thankful for being able to live through all the shit that I’ve been through. There are a lot of people that were with me at the beginning that might not have made it at this time. Like Drake and Future said, What a time to be alive.”

REVOLT is wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving and holiday season.
