Over the last OMI has truly taken the world by storm and in doing so, has brought his home island of Jamaica and the positively uplifting vibes of the Caribbean along with him.
The melodic singjay’s hit song “Cheerleader” was truly the soundtrack of the summer, dominating airwaves across the seven continents. Billboard confirmed it with affirmation, placing it number one on its coveted “Songs Of Summer” chart for 2015. Now, OMI has brought a full body of work to the table that he feels fully represents him as an artist, aptly titled Me 4 U, it is a direct personal message to his ever expanding fan base.
Although hailing from islands, OMI traversed the globe to gather the needed ingredients for his full length studio album and the final product music represents a truly global experience from start to finish. In 2015 the world is more connected then ever, in more ways then ever and byproduct of that fact. The LP is really a display of high quality forward thinking pop music that will be a staple throughout clubs, parties and arena’s for years to come.
Felix Jaehn’s “Cheerleader (Remix)” leads the way, the follow-up single “Hula Hoop” is just as catchy and already receiving alot of attention. “These Are The Days” has all the potential to be a blockbuster sinlgle as well with pinpoint production by Luca Schreiner. “Standing on All Threes” really brings the islands to life and the tune “Color Of My Lips” features dancehall king Busy Signal to bring even more authentic island flavor to the mix.
