Jay Z and Harry Belafonte have let bygones be bygones.

Quite possibly one of the most unusual feuds in the music industry, simply because there was no justifiable reason for the discrepancies, was put to a rest as Harry Belafonte and Jay Z both participated in a Q&A on “music and social injustice” last Friday. The legendary singer/social activist Belafonte triggered the differences in 2012, after he went on the record and said, “I think one of the great abuses of this modern time is that we should have had such high-profile artists, powerful celebrities. But they have turned their back on social responsibility. That goes for Jay Z and Beyoncé, for example.”

Jay Z addressed the acusations in 2013, replying, “This is going to sound arrogant, but my presence is charity. Just who I am. Just like Obama’s is.” Also adding in a song to Belafonte, “Mr. Day-O, major fail.”

After suffering a seizure the night before, according to Page Six, Belafonte attended the panel discussion, along with Usher and former nemesis Jay Z, where they reportedly settled their past differences. Good to see these two notable figures burying the hatchet, for the sake of general principle.
