Another biopic is on the way, but this one will be on the small screen.
Last year, it seemed as if artists reenacting their lives and musical journey in made for television scripted biopics, was the new form of behind the music tell-all’s. Whether they were a hit among fans, can be disputed, whereas others like “Straight Outta Compton” set box-office records. Spurring a string of collectives to follow, Raekwon calls for a Wu-Tang Clan film, DJ Premier is developing a Gang Starr story, and now Ja Rule has announced the he and Irv Gotti are working on a biopic TV show based on Murder Inc.
“It’s a great project, and we’re telling the Murda Inc. story in-depth,” he told Vibe. “It’s going to be a drama series, and we got Paramount as a partner. It’s gotta be raw and uncut.”
Ja also added his plans on possible networks to merge the project.
“We’re looking to be placed at one of the channels where we can act crazy like Showtime or HBO. It’s got to be raw and uncut.”
