Sometimes “life happens” and it can get the best of your time and creative agenda. After a lengthy hiatus from her acclaimed 2011 album 21, Adele finally address the impending album in an intimate letter to fans she shared on Twitter. Although she didn’t confirm a release date, the powerhouse singer did seem to assure us the album will indeed be titled 25, as well as the differences to expect from her previous Grammy-winning record.
“My last record was a break-up record and if I had to label this one I would call it a make-up record,” Adele explained. “’I’m making up with myself. I’m making up for lost time.”
And as for the lapse in between the last time we’ve heard anything from the UK songstress, she simply said, “I’m sorry it took so long, but you know, life happened.”
The release of Adele’s highly-anticipated album has the power to impact the entire music industry. After selling over 30 million copies worldwide and generating three consecutive #1 singles in the US, Adele’s heartfelt transparency and power vocals are an alliance that offer a perfect cross-generational ode to love. There’s still no lead single, tracklist, or release date, but we do know Danger Mouse, Max Martin, Tobias Jesso Jr., and Ryan Tedder were all involved in the recording process.
