Snoop Dogg is now a month removed from serving us Bush, his 13th studio album that arrived in the spring, and his latest venture seems like an added extension to that project. Presented at TechCrunch Disrupt in San Francisco yesterday (September 21), Snoop and media entrepreneur Ted Chung announced the launch of Merry Jane, a new marijuana-based media company.

As The Guardian reports, the co-founders who announced the venture called it a “premiere media platform at the intersection of cannabis and pop culture.”

Merry Jane is slated to launch this October and is currently allowing curious users to beta test the site.

“After watching where the cannabis industry is headed, I wanted to create a platform that will take this movement further by creating a destination where people could find fresh content,” Snoop said.

As far as what potential users could expect from the platform, Merry Jane plans to publish information on every aspect there is to know about cannabis, along with a video series called “Deflowered” that profiles several innovators within the industry.

“Merry Jane is a game-changing platform for pop culture,” the rapper said. “It’s a new frontier y’all!”
