Kanye Expected To Bring "SWISH" To DNC Fundraiser
New Ye Alert?
“Take the power in your own hands,” Kanye West rapped on 2010’s “Power.”
Besides putting in the hours at his G.O.O.D. Music powerhouse and the Yeezy Season fashion house, Ye is also busy generating some energy behind a potential presidential campaign.
After confirming he is “definitely” still running for President in 2020 with Vanity Fair last week, NBC reported that Kanye will perform live at an upcoming fundraiser for the Democratic National Committee on October 10. Billed as an afternoon concert, the event will take place at the Warfield Theater in San Francisco.
NBC revealed that Kanye “is expected to perform songs from his latest album, Swish.” Tickets are selling for “$250 to $10,000 each.”
Meanwhile, earlier this weekend, Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson said he was “willing to give [Kanye] a chance” at becoming President after the rapper voiced his support for him in his chat with Vanity Fair. Talking to ABC, Carson recalled being impressed with Kanye’s “business acumen” and championed his music for “uplifting” young people.
“I was extremely impressed with his business acumen,” Carson told ABC. “He knows a lot about business. And, you know, I talked to him about the possibility of him and maybe himself and some of the other people in the pop culture doing some music that might be uplifting, that might give young women a sense of their value and young men a sense of responsibility. I think it could be a tremendous thing in our society.”
At the MTV Video Music Awards last month, Kanye kickstarted his campaign, announcing a 2020 run for the Oval Office.
