This year alone we’ve heard more from Toro Y Moi than we have in the past few years of his career. Before releasing his surprise mixtape Samantha, the quirky musical creator gave us the mellow, ’70s guitar-pop album What For? And come to find out, somewhere in between the dialing discs he apparently hiked to Half Dome Mountain in Yosemite.

According to Toro Y Moi’s reps, it’s there that the psych-dance artist happened to meet the video’s director and on-site photographer R. Adam Prieto. After little-to-no convincing, the guys continued the journey together filming the stunning fluorescent landscape clip in time-lapse. Pretty cool, right?
