Like Travis Scott describes on the unofficial millennial national anthem “Antidote,” “anything can happen on the night show”

For his first week in the late-night office, Stephen Colbert has made that line come true in more ways than one, particularly with its eclectic musical lineup. For the kickoff last week, the show hosted a super-jam session featuring the likes of Aloe Blacc, Mavis Staples, Brittany Howard of Alabama Shakes, and Beirut, among many others. Kendrick Lamar brought along To Pimp A Butterfly the following night, followed by a sure-to-be legendary set by Run the Jewels and TV on the Radio.

On paper, the names Run the Jewels and TV on the Radio on the same performance bill might raise more eyebrows than excitement, but all of that became invalid during last night’s (September 15) set. The two acts not only appeared together on the same stage for Colbert’s latest musical spot, but they ripped it to shreds for a totally unreal, genre-bending rendition of “Angel Duster.”

There was a moment in time when the world was blessed with a compilation album featuring the best performances during the David Letterman era of the Late Show, and now with sets from K. Dot, that All-Star jam, and RTJ/TVOTR, Colbert already has enough material to pull off something similar. At any rate, relive last night’s magic, below.
