Whitney Houston Hologram Is On The Way
It was only a matter of time.
A hologram of the late, great Whitney Houston will debut next year.
First, we were mesmerized by Tupac’s virtual return at Coachella a few years back, then Old Dirty [email protected]$%#@ joined the Wu Tang Clan at Rock the Bells, and of course, how can we forget the epic vantage production of Michael Jackson at the Billboard Awards last year. Needless to say, holograms are the new musical wave.
Now, Hologram USA and Houston’s estate announced Friday (Sept. 11) that the hologram will stream live on FilmOn.com. The hologram will debut in 2016 “at a major U.S. venue,” according to a press release, and will be followed by a tour.
“It’s a great opportunity for her fans to see a reinvention of one the most celebrated female artists in history and to continue a legacy of performances that will not be forgotten in years to come,” Pat Houston, sister to Whitney and president of her estate, said in a statement. “I look forward to the partnership.”
According to the press release, the show will feature “a selection of her greatest hits,” accompanied by an interactive component.
Hologram USA announced earlier this week that a Billie Holiday hologram will debut later this year at the Apollo Theater in Harlem, New York. So hold tight, Whitney will have us all dancing again soon.
