Confirming what was already expected, today (September 8) it was announced that Sam Smith’s would sing the title song for the next James Bond movie, “Spectre,” starring Daniel Craig.

“Writing’s On The Wall” will be available later this month, September 25th, and is the first Bond theme song recorded by a British solo male artist since 1965.

In a press release, Smith was enthusiastic about the honor.

“This is one of the highlights of my career. I am honoured to finally announce that I will be singing the next Bond theme song. I am so excited to be a part of this iconic British legacy and join an incredible line up of some of my biggest musical inspirations. I hope you all enjoy the song as much as I enjoyed making it.”
