Making her rounds from The Tonight Show, to the last leg of summer festivals, Alessia Cara dropped by Australia’s Channel V to perform a stripped-down version of Drake’s “Hotline Bling.” Ahead of her debut Four Pink Walls EP, releasing August 28, the soul’n’b singer channels her fellow Canadian’s booty anthem for an acoustic flip alongside her drummer and guitarist. Carrying a similar melodic strength as her breakout single “Here,” Alessia’s version is more subdued than the original. And there’s no doubt Drake wouldn’t be proud of his “lil one from 6 side.” How could you not agree.
