In the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic, Beyoncé and her family are doing their best to stay safe. In a recent interview, Tina Knowles explained that their entire clan got tested for COVID-19.

“We all got tested,” Tina shared. “We’ve gotten the results back and everybody is okay, and so I hope that we can get together this Mother’s Day and have dinner together — and I can actually touch them for real.” She added, “It makes me sad, especially on Sundays, ‘cause that’s the day we all get together. So, on Sunday mornings, I got the blues.”

Earlier this week, Beyoncé announced #IDIDMYPART Mobile Testing Relief Campaign, which offered testing to residents of Houston. In a statement, Tina expressed her gratitude towards the joint venture with her daughter. “We are all in this together. But we have to look at what is happening in our Black and Brown communities and how they are being decimated by COVID-19,” she said.

She continued, “It is critical that we stay vigilant with social distancing, wearing a mask, and most of all getting tested. If you don’t get tested then you don’t know if you are a carrier of the virus. Being asymptomatic is how you infect your entire household and those around you, the very people you love. We have got to go to these free testing facilities and find out our status.”

Back in April, Beyoncé also donated $6 million towards wellness services aimed at providing relief to essential workers amid the pandemic. “BeyGOOD recognizes the immense mental and personal health burdens being placed on essential workers during the COVID-19 pandemic,” the press release read. “In our major cities, African Americans comprise a disproportionate number of workers in these indispensable occupations, and they will need mental health support and personal wellness care, including testing and medical services, food supplies and food deliveries, both during and after the crisis.”
