Swizz Beatz and Timbaland have announced the next match-up to take place for their popular Verzuz series.

Dancehall heavyweights Beenie Man and Bounty Killer will be the next two artists to face-off on Instagram Live. The battle is set to go down Memorial Day weekend on Saturday, May 23 at 8 pm ET.

Beenie Man has quite an impressive catalog with hit songs “Girls Dem Suga,” “Who Am I” and “King Of The Dancehall.” He won the Grammy for Best Reggae Album in 2000 for Art and Life.

Bounty Killer, on the other hand, has hits of his own such as “Benz and Bimma” and “Look.” In 2002, he was nominated for Best Reggae Album for Ghetto Dictionary: The Mystery.

Fans have taken to social media to express their excitement over the upcoming battle.

Twitter user @missyaa1 tweeted, “Beenie Man vs Bounty killer!!! I’m about to bring my inner dancehall queen to life!!! MARCIA!!”

“Wait??? Bounty Killer vs Beenie Man for #Verzuz this Saturday??!” social media user @MannyNorte wrote. “Ah it’s over! OVER!!! Internet shut down AGAIN!!! Holy Shit. Somebody seh WAAAR!!”

Swizz and Timbaland have provided us with exceptional Verzuz battles during COVID-19. We have seen Ne-Yo go up against Johntá Austin, T-Pain versus Lil Jon, Erykah Badu versus Jill Scott, Babyface versus Teddy Riley, RZA versus DJ Premier and most recently, Nelly versus Ludacris.

The battles have caused an increase in streams for the artists. Babyface and Riley saw an 115% climb in streams following their celebration of music. Badu and Scott brought in 6.7 million US streams for their song catalogs, compared to 2.1 million streams the Thursday (May 7) and Friday (May 8) before the battle.

Reggae fans get ready because Beenie Man versus Bounty Killer is guaranteed to be an amazing night of music. Check out the visual for the event below.
