On Saturday (April 25), the rapper announced that he is hosting a virtual concert that will benefit food banks in Atlanta. The virtual event will include performances from himself, SAINt JHN, Young Thug and Rich the Kid.

“YO! I’M SO EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE OFFSET AND FRIENDS! I’M TEAMING UP WITH @thuggerthugger1 @richthekid AND @saintjhn TO RAISE FUNDS FOR ATLANTA COMMUNITY FOOD BANK, A FEEDING AMERICA PARTNER. Offset’s announcement came after he asked fans to pray for his family following the loss of his uncle. “Smfh this corona s—t done killed my great uncle. RIP uncle Jerry damn man,” he wrote to his Instagram Stories at the time.

In addition to that, Offset’s wife, Cardi B, has also spoken candidly about the importance of social distancing amid the pandemic. “The thing is that people are still dying and catching Coronavirus, and as much as I want to go outside — cause I want to be outside for the summertime, I just don’t feel like it’s safe to go outside,” she said.

The “Be Careful” rapper also thanked healthcare workers, who continually put their lives at risk. “It makes me sad that they cannot have their family around them to nurture them, to hold their hands and say, ‘Everything is going to be alright.’ It’s really sad that some people like their last moments — they cannot even spend it with their families.”
