On Thursday (Oct. 15), Sean “Diddy” Combs officially launched a Black political party. With this major announcement, the REVOLT Media & TV chairman also endorsed presidential candidate Joe Biden.

Joining media personality Charlamagne Tha God for an in-depth discussion about all things politics, the 2020 presidential election and what this all means for Black Americans, Combs didn’t hold back about his controversial “hold the Black vote hostage” statement, President Trump’s outrageous “stand back and stand by” comments to The Proud Boys during his first debate against Biden and much more. The outspoken mogul also talked the launch of Our Black Party, a brand new political party that was designed with an agenda that’s specifically focused on the African-American community’s needs.

“From a national, state, and local perspective, there’s currently a lot of energy in terms of people wanting to do something and Our Black Party is one vehicle that can be used to corral collective energy to cultivate change. We don’t just want symbolic change, we want substantive change,” Dr. Wes Bellamy, Our Black Party co-chair and former vice-mayor of Charlottesville, Virginia previously told REVOLT.

Combs also opened up about his VOTE OR DIE initiative that he created in 2004 and how his current political views are a continuation of it. The businessman and philanthropist added that his lifelong mission is to do everything in his power to always ensure that Black people have the tools to combat and “break down systematic oppression, defend themselves by any means necessary,” and future generations get placed in a position to thrive.

Some of the initial goals of Our Black Party are to decriminalize poverty, defund the police, address racism in healthcare, provide guaranteed income for all, grow Black businesses, provide high-quality and affordable education, and much more. To learn more about the new political party, go here.
