Beyonce’s ‘Homecoming’ snubbed at the Creative Arts Emmys

The Beyhive is demanding answers.

The Beyhive is heated and they are taking to social media to vent their frustrations.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Beyoncé’s Netflix documentary Homecoming was nominated in six categories at the Creative Arts Emmys; outstanding variety special (pre-recorded), outstanding costumes for variety, non-fiction or reality programming; outstanding directing for a variety special; outstanding music direction; outstanding production design for a variety special and outstanding writing for a variety special. Bey was also listed as a nominee in four of those categories, with the exception of outstanding costumes and production design.

However, it appears that Homecoming didn’t take home anything and Twitter is livid. Bey was beat out by “Carpool Karaoke: When Corden Met McCartney Live From Liverpool” for best variety special (pre-recorded); by “RuPaul’s Drag Race” for best costumes for variety, nonfiction or reality programming; by “Springsteen on Broadway” for best directing for a variety special; by Fosse/Verdon for best music direction; by “Rent” for outstanding production design for a variety special; and by “Hannah Gadsby: Nanette” for best writing for a variety special.

Homecoming didn’t win an Emmy. ‘Lemonade’ didn’t win an Emmy. ‘Lemonade’ didn’t win AOTY. Whoever is responsible for this repeated burglary of Beyoncé, needs to be caught, reprimanded and taught what art is,” one Twitter user wrote. “Beyoncé not winning any Emmy’s tonight is a great example of why you have to be confident in who you are and what you produce. Because waiting on others to validate you will have you messed up. We ALL know Homecoming was amazing and so does she. That’s more than enough,” another tweeted.

The 2019 Creative Arts Emmy Awards was held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Saturday night (Sept. 13). The event is set to air on FXX on Saturday (Sept. 21), ahead of the Primetime Emmy Awards, which airs on Fox on Sunday (Sept. 22).
