MTV is ensuring that fans feel compelled to watch the VMAs by featuring a promising list of performers.
For this year's event, fans will witness Big Sean, A$AP Ferg, Lil Nas X, Normani and more take the stage. Big Sean has a plethora of hits to choose from. More recently, Sean dropped his track "Single Again." In the past, Sean has seen much success at the annual show including taking home the award for Best Video with a Social Message in 2015 and Best Fight Against the System in 2017.
As for A$AP Ferg, he is currently on a roll. Last week, Ferg dropped his latest LP, Floor Seats, which features guest appearances from A$AP Rocky, City Girls, and others. For this performance, there's no telling if Ferg might surprise the audience with an appearance from one of his collaborators.
But, the lineup is just getting started! For Lil Nas X's performance, fans are anticipating that he performs his breakthrough hit, "Old Town Road." Regardless of the performance, Lil Nas has a lot to celebrate. Lil Nas X's nominations include Video of the Year, Song of the Year, Best New Artist, Best Collaboration, Best Hip-Hop, Best Direction, Best Editing and Best Art Direction.
And if fans are in the mood for a jam-packed pop performance, luckily, Normani is set to hit the sage. Last week, she dropped her debut solo single and visual, "Motivation." The Dave Meyers-directed visual features Normani paying homage to the 2000s. As the video unfolds, Normani takes on Beyoncé's "Crazy in Love," Jennifer Lopez's "I'm Real (Remix)," Ciara's "1, 2 Step," Omarion's "Touch" and so much more. In the star-studded video, Normani hits flawless choreography. Hopefully, the Houston native brings those effortless dance moves to the VMAs stage.
Luckily, the VMAs are right around the corner and is slated to take place on Aug. 26. Take a look at MTV's official announcement regarding the lineup of performers below.
