G-Eazy reportedly has his eyes set on a new goal. He wants to portray Elvis Presley in an upcoming movie regarding his life.

TMZ reports that there are many actors gunning for the role of The King. Sources revealed that G-Eazy has been in talks with people at Warner Bros. and has had a few meetings with the film’s director, Baz Luhrmann. Reportedly, G and Luhrmann spent time together in New York City last month, where the 30-year-old rapper hinted about wanting to play Presley.

Although Luhrmann has not confirmed who he’s leaning toward for casting, there are others to decipher from. Ansel Elgort, Miles Teller, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Harry Styles and Austin Butler have all tested for the role. The role of Elvis’ manager, Colonel Tom Parker, has been secured by Tom Hanks.

If G-Eazy is picked for the role of Elvis Presley, it would be his first time starring in a major feature film. In the past, he’s made several major cameos in series such as HBO’s Insecure and the CW’s Riverdale.

Following the unfortunate news of A$AP Rocky’s arrest in Sweden, G-Eazy offered support through social media. He expressed his empathy in an Instagram post.

“Free my bro Rocky,” he wrote as his caption. “This shit is f–ked up and hits home. I was in that same shit a year ago in Sweden and wasn’t allowed a phone call or visitors out there. Praying for my guy for real.”

G-Eazy is amongst many others who have sent well wishes to Rocky following the announcement of his arrest. While performing at the Wireless Festival a few days ago, Travis Scott offered his support. “Free Rocky, man,” he began. “You know what time it is. Yes, sir.”

Can you picture G-Eazy playing the role of Elvis Presley in the upcoming biopic?
