Following his arrest in Sweden for suspension of assault, A$AP Rocky will reportedly remain in custody at least for the next two weeks as the investigation continues.
As the #FreeFlocko/ #FreeRocky movement continues to trend on social media, Rocky's A$AP Mob bredren A$AP Ferg has provided fans with an update on Rocky as he's awaiting his next hearing.
"He's in Sweeden [sic] locked up in solitary confinement with no visit or phone call privileges. They are trying to keep him there for 2 weeks and if convicted he will be looking at 6 years just for defending himself in a fight. He was no way in [sic] form the aggressor in this ordeal. Pray for justice #freeflacko."
As we previously reported, the standard practices for when an American is arrested in another country were not followed after Rocky was taken into custody. Reportedly Sweden officers are refusing to let the United States Embassy rep to meet with Rocky or his team. According to TMZ, the issue was reported to the Swedish Embassy in Washington D.C. to avoid a further breach of Rocky's human rights.
Following a court appearance on Friday, Rocky's lawyer Henrik Olsson Lilja told PEOPLE, "The prosecutor told us today that he will not probably be finished within two weeks, so my assumption is that he will have completed the investigation within around three-four weeks. We appealed the District Court's decision today, but the Court of Appeal rejected that. Now we will probably appeal to the Supreme Court, but they will not be able to try this until next week, probably."
"The Swedish detention system is a little old fashioned. We don't have the bail system," Lilja continued. "We will see what the Supreme Court says because this is quite an interesting issue. The reason that he's being kept in the detention center is that the court ruled that there is a risk that he won't come back to Sweden if we have a trial. But that is usually applicable to foreigners who are known to be living on the other side of the law, but this is a celebrity so, of course, he will come back. So I don't understand this decision."
Rocky was expected to perform in London tomorrow (July 7); however, it looks like that show and the remainder of his international tour will be canceled until further notice.
