After performing at the Smash Festival in Stockholm yesterday night (July 2), A$AP Rocky was arrested by Swedish police on suspicion of assault.
While posting to his Instagram page, Rocky shared a three-minute long video explaining what really happened. The video shows a pair of young men following A$AP and his crew for several blocks. Rocky's bodyguard repeatedly asked the men to leave. One of the men hits Rocky's bodyguard with headphones, which the bodyguard then smashes on the ground.
Rocky tried his best to calm down the situation and repeatedly explained that he doesn't want any trouble. Despite his efforts, the fight began minutes later when the man kept hounding A$AP and groped a woman's butt.
"SO A FEW DRUG ADDICTS ARE NOT MY FANS," Rocky wrote on Instagram. "WE DONT KNOW THESE GUYS AND WE DIDNT WANT TROUBLE , THEY FOLLOWED US FOR 4 BLOCKS , AND THEY WERE SLAPPING GIRLS BUTTS WHO PASSED , GIVE ME A BREAK."
In addition to Rocky, three other people were also arrested, two on suspicion of aggravated assault and one for suspicion of assault. According to TMZ, Stockholm cops can now hold Rocky for up to three days while prosecutors decide whether or not to charge him. If Rocky is charged, he's looking at the possibility of up to six years in a Swedish prison.
Prior to Rocky's arrest, his career was moving at an all-time high. Back in May, the New York rapper starred in a Calvin Klein ad. During his segment of the ad, Rocky touched upon his life, career and more. Alongside Rocky were other notable names including Bella Hadid, Billie Eilish, Kendall Jenner, Kevin Abstract, Shawn Mendes, Chika, Indya Moore, Noah Centineo, Troye Sivan, and Yoo Ah-In.
