YBN Cordae is having a standout year. Coming up as one-third of the YBN crew alongside YBN Nahmir and YBN Almighty Jay; the Raleigh, North Carolina native has proved himself as one of the most promising rappers of our generation. Now, his highly anticipated album The Lost Boy arrives hailing standout singles “Bad Idea” with Chance The Rapper and “RNP” featuring Anderson .Paak.

The star-studded project clocks in 15 tracks with additional features from Meek Mill, Ty Dolla $ign, Pusha T, and Arin Ray. While Cordae is only 21 years old, his spitfire flows and lyrics of substance give hope to all hip hop heads from both the new school and the old school. Songs like “We Gon Make It” featuring Meek bring back that motivation and drive to work hard and chase your wildest dreams, while “Way Back Home” featuring Ty$ brings back that soulful R&B that we all know and love.

In the middle of the project resides his “Broke As Fuck” freestyle, which touches on real-life experiences and storytelling that allow listeners into his mind. Additionally, he flexes his own confidence in delivering what the rap game needs.

Two weeks prior, Cordae posted the album’s tracklist to his 1.4 million followers on Instagram with the release date of July 26 paired with a devil emoji. While he continues to maneuver through the rap game with his best friends (the Young Boss Niggaz collective), this album proves both his worth as a solo act, as well as skillsets as an MC.

Beyond the release, Cordae recently made his national television debut performing “RNP (Rich N*gga Problems)” alongside Paak on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”

Additionally, he scored a well-deserved spot on this year’s XXL Freshman list, killing his cypher alongside Blueface and Rico Nasty. He spit, “Never will I ever forget beginnings, a country boy who humble and grateful for his position / But never satisfied or complacent, my intuition is tellin’ me longevity is the race that you finish.”
