Back in May, DMX and his friends were leaving STK restaurant in Hollywood when the valet accidentally gave them the keys to someone else's car that was similar to X's. The crew didn't notice and drove away. When the owner of the original car didn't receive his vehicle back, he called the police and reported it stolen. The valet admitted the mix up to authorities and alerted them that DMX and company were headed to the Sunset Strip.
Police apprehended the Corvette without incident; however, DMX's attorneys were concerned that the mix up would affect X's probation and land him back in jail. However, over the weekend, X's lawyers [informed TMZ that federal investigators cleared him after they determined there was no wrongdoing on his part.
According to DMX's lawyer, Murray Richman, his client was notified by his probation officer that "everything is fine."
In other DMX news, while the rapper has been in NYC filming Chronicle of a Serial Kill, a lookalike of the rapper is wanted in South Carolina for allegedly shooting a man outside an apartment complex in Columbia.
"It looks exactly like me," DMX jokingly told TMZ. "I think they fucked around and took a picture of me and somebody drew a picture of me and added hair to it. They know I'm on parole, man. That shit is crazy."
A spokesperson for the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (State Police)told the news outlet that witnesses claimed the suspect looked a lot like DMX and that the sketch artist drew out a picture of ex and added/removed things based on the witnesses' memory. The spokesperson confirmed that X is not a person of interest in the case.
