Prior to her music career elevating to the colossal perch where it sits today, SZA worked at Sephora, and now the incident where she was racially profiled at a California location has prompted the brand to take company-wide action.

As confirmed by the beauty retailer on Monday (June 3), the company will be closing all of its U.S. stores, distribution centers and corporate offices on Wednesday (June 5) to conduct a diversity training workshop for its employees.

As previously reported, SZA called out her former employer on Twitter after sharing her recent unsettling shopping experience with fans, during which she claimed an employee suspected she was shoplifting, forcing her to have to speak with the store’s security about the allegation.

“We have been informed of an incident at our Calabasas store and in addition to reaching out to SZA directly, we are gathering more information about the incident in order to take the proper next steps,” Sephora said in a statement emailed to Reuters. “We take complaints like this very seriously, profiling on the basis of race is not tolerated at Sephora.”

The chain, which operates more than 460 stores across the states according to its website, announced the move on its Facebook page, stating that the inclusion workshops were not a “response to any one event” but had been in progress for several months as part of a broader campaign called “We Belong to Something Beautiful.”

“These values have always been at the heart of Sephora,” the post announcing the workshops reads. “And we’re excited to welcome everyone when we reopen.”

After the incident, SZA tweeted, “Can a b—h cop her fenty in peace er whut,” leading Rihanna to send her a handwritten note and giftcard to Fenty Beauty makeup line in a gesture of solidarity and support.

On the morning of 6/5, every Sephora store, distribution center, and corporate office in the US will close to host inclusion workshops for our employees. These values have always been at the heart of Sephora, and we’re excited to welcome everyone when we reopen.
