Jason Mitchell has been dropped from Showtime's "The Chi" following misconduct allegations, Deadline reports.

The 32-year-old actor rose to fame playing the late Eazy-E in 2015's Straight Outta Compton. The New Orleans native later starred alongside Mary J. Blige in 2017's Mudbound and received Critics' Choice and Screen Actors Guild Award nominations for his work in the film.

According to Deadline, the allegations of "inappropriate behavior" were so serious that Mitchell was dropped by UTA, Authentic Talent & Literary Management, and an upcoming Netflix film titled Desperados which he was set to star in as a lead.

Producers on Desperados reportedly received word about an alleged off-set incident involving the actor and "investigated immediately and thoroughly." The outcome of the investigation led to his firing. At press time, there are no further details about the allegations against Mitchell.

In August 2016, Mitchell was accused of assaulting a woman at a hotel party in Boston. According to the 18-year-old, later identified by TMZ as Emily Marquez, Mitchell became aggressive after she rejected his advances at the Ritz-Carlton. "He grabbed my hair and dragged me down to the floor," she told the site. Marquez also planned to get a lawyer so that "the truth could [come] out."

Deadline also reports Mitchell had another incident involving "inappropriate behavior" with a female co-star on "The Chi." According to the outlet, the matter was "resolved" before the most recent allegations. Mitchell has yet to respond to being dropped from the popular TV series which has been renewed for a third season.

Most recently he starred in the 2018's remake of Superfly alongside Trevor Jackson and Michael K. Williams.
