Dealing with rumors come hand-in-hand with celebrity status, an unfortunate side effect of fame that August Alsina is learning about firsthand.
Throughout the past couple of months, speculation has grown among fans claiming that Jada Pinkett-Smith and the R&B singer allegedly have had an affair. While Alsina has previously dispelled the rumors, which grew tenfold following the release of his 2019 March track “NunYa (Remix),” the singer is now approaching the situation in a lighthearted manner.
On Sunday (May 19), the 26-year-old took to Instagram to check in with fans, posting a photo that showcased how his face was puffy and he had what appeared to be a swollen eye.
“A glimpse of my mood and everyday life during allergy season,” he initially captioned the photo. “Everything on me is so swollen. I’m really trying to do music shit for y’all but my allergies are trying to take me out.”
However, after noting in the comments section that people had been joking Alsina had gotten into a fight, the singer decided to play along. He then edited his caption to imply that he and Will Smith had gotten into a physical altercation.
“Will finally caught up to me about all that Jada crap that was going on in the news,” he wrote. “& let’s just say, he whooped my axs!! Guess that ALI training really paid off :).”
While neither member of the Smith family has reacted to the edited caption at the time of this report, fans certainly are weighing in on the matter.
Back in April, Alsina utilized his Instagram account to provide clarity to fans, further claiming that his “NunYa (Remix)” had nothing to do about the “Red Table Talk” show host.
“I’ve been paying attention to all the theories of conspiracy in regard to ‘NunYa’ Remix,” he wrote at the time. “So Here’s To Clarity, The Song is not about Jada. It’s simply JUST A SONG , & a free artistic expression of a made up narrative already put in place by its ORIGINAL format.”
