Will Smith has booked yet another major movie role.

In addition to playing Genie in Disney's live-action remake of "Aladdin" and reprising his role as detective Mike Lowrey in the upcoming film "Bad Boys For Life," the 50-year-old actor has signed on to play Venus and Serena Williams' dad, Richard Williams, according to reports.

On Monday (March 4), Deadline broke the exclusive about Smith's new role in the Williams project, currently titled "King Richard." Smith's production company, Overbrook Entertainment, reportedly teamed up with Star Thrower Entertainment to produce the film based on the dedicated paternal figure. The movie will take viewers through Williams' journey of overcoming his "troubled past" to help mold his daughters into becoming two of the most decorated players in tennis.

According to the Deadline, Williams began training Venus and Serena for greatness on the seedy courts in Compton at the age of 4 years old despite having no professional background experience in the sport. He reportedly drew up a 78 page plan for the girls in order to ensure their success in the game which undoubtedly helped earn Serena and Venus win a collective of 30 Grand Slam tournament wins.

The spec script is written by Zach Baylin and will be executively produced by Allan Mandelbaum and Jada Pinkett-Smith's brother, Caleeb Pinkett. Mary Solomon and Rick Rickertsen are also listed as co-producers. Outside of Smith, no other roles have been announced, but one would imagine playing young Venus and Serena would be big shoes to fill.

Smith's agency, CAA, is currently selling the script, which is expected to be sold sooner than later. Fans of the Williams' can expect to see the film on the big screen in the near future.
