Last month, Justine Skye came forward with allegations of domestic abuse against Sheck Wes. After previously alluding to her experiences during an interview on “The Breakfast Club,” the singer decided to file an official police report against the rapper.

According to reports, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office has declined to move forward with the case due to “insufficient evidence.”

As reported, the investigation stemmed from allegations that Wes physically beat her while the pair were at the Montrose Hotel in West Hollywood, Calif., last summer. Skye went public in February, vocalizing the allegations on Twitter. Wes addressed the situation on social media, vehemently denying the claims.

“I’ve chosen to remain silent until now out of respect for actual victims of abuse,” he responded on Twitter. “But I cannot stand by while lies are repeatedly told about me. I never hit or beat any women and I did not beat up or jump anybody.”

With the D.A. declining to move forward, Wes has been cleared of any wrongdoing against his ex. After initially filing a police report last month, a judge issued a temporary restraining order preventing Wes from contacting or being in the same location as Skye. As reported, the restraining order remains intact at this time.

“A judge in the Superior Court of California granted a restraining order against Sheck Wes that is still in effect and the correlating case is still pending,” a statement reads, issued on behalf of Skye by a representative. “However, it is unfortunate that the Los Angeles District Attorney decided to not pursue any further action at this time but that is often the case with many victims of Domestic Violence which is why incidents like this go unreported much of the time. At no time did anyone from the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office take a statement on the incident from Justine Skye or reached out to garner a statement which is unfortunate.”

While Wes denied all of Skye’s accusations, the situation prompted Major League Soccer to remove the “Mo Bamba” rapper from their promotional campaign advertising its 2019 season.
