After a successful biopic on VH1, T-Boz and Chilli are ready to take TLC’s story to the Broadway stage.

In a recent interview with Cheddar, Chilli revealed that she and T-Boz are working to tell more of the group’s story.

“We’re also working on the TLC musical and TLC on Broadway,” she said during the interview. “We’re going to create new music for those projects as well.”

Chilli promised fans that the musical wouldn’t regurgitate the same info that was in the 2013 TV movie “CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story.”

“We didn’t tell everything,” she said. “We have so many stories to tell. We didn’t tell it all in our biopic we did with VH1. A lot of good stuff. It’s gonna be very emotional but a good ride.”

In April 2002, group member Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes unexpectedly died in a car accident in Honduras. After taking a hiatus following Lopes’ death, T-Boz and Chilli worked alongside Dallas Austin to complete the group’s fourth album, 3D. After some back on forth on whether they should retire or not, T-Boz and Chilli decided that they would continue to work as a duo while using the TLC name.

Following the release of their biopic, TLC released their self-titled fifth album in 2017. Entirely funded by fans via GoFundMe, the group raised $430,000 for what was expected to be their final album. After the release of the album, T-Boz and Chilli announced they would continue to perform and make new music. Currently, they are preparing to go tour with Nelly and Flo Rida starting this July.
