Lil Durk's cousin and Chicago drill rapper Lil Mister was reportedly shot and killed Friday night (Mar. 15) in his hometown. He was 24 years old.

According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Lil Mister—real name Antwon Fields— was shot around 7:15 pm local time in the Englewood neighborhood of Chicago after someone in a dark-colored car fired several shots. The rapper suffered a bullet wound to the head and was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.

Currently, a homicide investigation is being conducted by local detectives.

Mister was best known for his 2012 single "No Lackin." After the success of "No Lackin," the rapper was reportedly imprisoned on traffic and weapons-related charges and was released in 2016. Back in January, Mister dropped the video for his latest single "Ride or Die."

His cousin Lil Durk is currently on tour and has yet to speak publicly about the death.

On a lighter note, Durk's father Dontay Banks was released from prison back in February after serving 22 years for distributing crack-cocaine in Chicago. Originally sentenced to life in prison, Banks appealed his sentence several times before finally winning the appeal which resulted in his release from prison.

In 1993 the FBI arrested Banks and several others in connection with a crack-cocaine distribution ring. Banks and three others connected received life sentences, while others related to the ring received sentences of 10 and 30 years.

After his father's release, Durk tweeted "Big durk home," in excitement for his father's release.
