Rich the Kid and his entourage appear to have been targets of an armed robbery on Tuesday (Feb. 12) at Westlake Recording Studio in Hollywood where Usher was also recording.

According to TMZ, at least one of Rich The Kid’s bodyguards was badly injured in the frightening ordeal after the suspects reportedly pistol-whipped him. Eyewitnesses also revealed “as many as” 10 shots were let off at the now-crime scene before the suspects ran off with cash and jewelry.

Fortunately Rich the Kid and Usher survived the attack, but it’s currently unclear if anyone else was harmed. L.A. County Sheriff’s deputies swarmed the studio and surrounding area with their guns drawn immediately after the robbery searching for the armed suspects but no arrests have been made at press time. Law enforcement also reportedly collected evidence connected to the case.

Usher was seen exiting the studio later that evening but declined to issue a statement about his well-being. A rep for Rich the Kid told TMZ he was “doing OK” after the attack.

The rapper and his girlfriend, Tori Brixx, were involved in another armed robbery at his home in Los Angeles this past summer. In that incident, Rich the Kid fought back but was once again believed to be a target. Members close to his team suspected the home invasion was “an inside job.” A total of five masked men attacked the couple and reportedly got away with “a significant amount” of cash and jewelry. Rich the Kid and Brixx were hospitalized for their injuries.

Brixx is currently pregnant and expecting her first child with the “Splashin” rapper. The couple shared the happy news on Instagram in December with a post revealing an ultrasound of their baby.

Just hours before the studio attack on Tuesday, Rich the Kid uploaded a photo of himself holding stacks of money. According to TMZ, the original caption read, “For motivational purposes only.” As of Wednesday morning, the caption reads, “Always in bank mo deposit.”
