Cardi B experienced a life-changing moment and made history during the 2019 Grammy Awards when she became the first solo female rapper to win in the Best Rap Album category.

However, despite the iconic victory, the commentary from her naysayers has reached a point where the Bronx rapper had enough. Following her Grammy win, Bardi decided to deactivate her Instagram account.

After receiving backlash that she was undeserving of the accolade, and following some social media drama during which BET stirred the pot regarding her past beef with Nicki Minaj, the rapper shared her thoughts on the matter and then, deleted her account.

During the video post, which has since been deleted, Cardi B references the shot BET fired against Minaj. The network has since issued a statement of apology explaining that the post, which said Minaj was “being dragged by her lacefront” after Cardi won, should have never been made in the first place.

“It’s not my style for people to put other people down to uplift somebody else, that’s not my style and that’s not what I’m with and I don’t support that,” she began. “However, I been taking a lot of s—t today, I’m seeing a lot of bull—t today and I saw a lot of s—t last night. And I’m sick of this s—t. I worked hard for my motherf—ing album.”

She then goes on to talk about how much work she put into her debut, Invasion of Privacy, as well as reminded fans that when she was nominated for “Bodak Yellow,” the masses were singing a different tune.

“I remember last year when I didn’t win for ‘Bodak Yellow,’ everybody was like, ‘Cardi got snubbed, Cardi got snubbed.’ Now this year’s a f—king problem?” Cardi continued. “My album went two-time platinum, my n—a. And every chart that there was, my album was always top 10. Number one album as well. I f—king worked my ass off, locked myself in the studio for three months, my n—a, then went to sleep in my own bed, sometimes for four days straight, pregnant. Some songs couldn’t even get on the f—ing album because my nose was so f—ing stuffy from my pregnancy. N—s couldn’t sleep, n—s couldn’t do s—t.”

Hopefully Cardi B’s absence from Instagram will afford her the peace of mind to celebrate her Grammy win. At the time of this report, her Twitter account is still active.
