Kevin Hart appears to be in good spirits following his car crash in Malibu.

The comedian was spotted on Saturday (Nov. 2) leaving a Calabasas shopping mall with a friend. When approached by a TMZ cameraman, Hart said that he was feeling “great” and “blessed to be alive.”

Kevin was also asked if he plans to return to comedy soon, and to that he replied, “in time.” “It’s a process, gonna take some time. Right now, [I’m] relaxing, enjoying the family and recovering. That’s all that matters right now,” Hart said.

Hart shared an emotional video detailing a portion of the road to his recovery on Instagram last week. In the clip, he said, “Basically, what you realize is that you’re not in control. No matter how much you think you’re in control, you’re not in control and at the end of the day it can all be over. When God talks, you gotta listen. I swear life is funny. Because some of the craziest things that happen to you end up being the thing that you needed most. In this case, I honestly feel like God basically told me to sit down. When you’re moving too fast and you doing too much sometimes you can’t see the things you’re meant to see. But after my accident, I see things differently.”

He continued, “I see life from a whole new perspective. My appreciation for life is through the roof. I’m thankful for my family, my friends... I’m thankful for the people that simply ride with me and have been with me ‘cause you stood by me. My fans, thankful for all your love and support. Don’t take today for granted, ‘cause tomorrow’s not promised. More importantly, I’m thankful for God, thankful for life.” Hart added that he is “looking forward to an amazing 2020.”

As previously reported, Hart fractured his spine in three places after his friend Jared Black got into a car accident while driving the comedian’s 1970 Plymouth Barracuda in September. Hart was hospitalized before entering a live-in rehab facility to undergo physical therapy. He returned home shortly after.
