The grind doesn’t stop for Issa Rae. The actress, director, and producer has announced the latest venture that she’ll be adding to her résumé. On Thursday (Oct. 17), Issa revealed that she has launched a record label called Raedio. Along with the announcement of the label, Issa introduced her first artist, TeaMarrr. “Beyond excited to present the first amazingly talented artist from my new label RAEDIO,” the “Insecure” star said in an Instagram post, which featured TeaMarrr’s music.

According to Variety, Raedio is a partnership with Atlantic Records. The label will also supervise the music on HBO’s “A Black Lady Sketch Show,” which Rae produces as well.

“Music has always been an essential part of every project I do and working with emerging talent is a personal passion,” Issa said in a statement. “Raedio allows me to continue that work within the music industry and audio entertainment space. The Atlantic team are innovators in terms of shifting and shaping culture. I’m excited to join forces with them to discover new artists.”

Atlantic Chairman & COO Julie Greenwald also weighed in on the new partnership with Issa’s Raedio label. “Issa Rae is a next-level, future-thinking creative force who’s been breaking down cultural barriers and conquering one field after another,” said Greenwald. “She’s made music a central character in her artistic evolution, and now she’s brought all that amazing passion, inspiration, and taste to the formation of Raedio. We’re thrilled to be partnering with Issa and her team on this exciting new venture, and TeaMarrr is the perfect artist to launch with.”

Billboard reports that TeaMarrr caught Issa’s attention with her 2018 single “One Job,” which received over 1.2 million streams. To mark the new partnership between TeaMarrr and Raedio, the label has released her new single, “Kinda Love,” which comes with a music video that features a cameo from Issa Rae.
