Drake reminds Kanye West he’s the master of throwing subtle shade

Does the 6 God have more to say?

It certainly feels as though there is some turbulent energy shadowing over this week, particularly when it comes to the mood ring of a relationship countless rappers have with one another. More specifically, this week, the spotlight has fallen once again on Drake and Kanye West, with many fans wondering if there's a shift in their dynamic about to take place or if a revival of the beef between G.O.O.D. Music and OVO Sound is bubbling beneath the surface.

On Wednesday (Aug. 29), Kanye West made an appearance on Chicago's 107.5 WGCI morning show, during which he touched on a variety topics and overall was doing his best to avoid controversy (sort of). In addition to discussing his widely criticized appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live—during which the show cuts to commercial before West can respond to the question of if Trump cares about Black people or not—Yeezy also was questioned about his rumored beef with Drake.

Kanye, however, wasn't all that interested in taking the bait, going on to briefly (and vaguely) touch on an incident between the two and explain that despite whatever went down, "We all got love for Drake."

"When we talk about the Drake thing, it hits me in a really sensitive place," Kanye said, touching on the subject during the on-air appearance. "Because you hang around people and they come to your house and be around your family and this and that. And they get mad about a beat and send you purple demon emojis."

Drake, being the master of social media shade that he is, must've gotten wind of the comment, choosing to respond in, well, typical Drizzy fashion.

Taking to Instagram, the Toronto rapper posted a portrait of himself, captioning the image with a "purple demon emoji" and a "laughing while crying" emoji. Coincidence or shade, you decide.

While 'Ye was interested in taking the high road, explaining that he and Drake will reconcile one day because "we got to, because we got work to do, and these voices is just too powerful," the 6 God might not fully be on board just yet. After all, time (and probably Drake's Instagram account) will tell.
