The first night of Coachella 2018 is already one for the history books, with the annual festival kicking off Friday night (April 14) with performances by The Weeknd, SZA, Daniel Caesar, Vince Staples, Kali Uchis and more.

Kendrick Lamar made for a fitting surprise guest, with both SZA and Vince Staples bringing out the Compton superstar during their respective sets.

SZA was also joined by the likes of Trippie Redd (“Dark Knight Dummo”) and her TDE labelmate Isiah Rashad (“Pretty Little Birds”).

For the finale of her soulful and electric set, Kung Fu Kenny returned to the Coachella stage to help deliver two of their incredible collaborations, “Doves in the Wind” and “All of Stars,” the latter of which appears on the Black Panther soundtrack.

Unfortunately for fans in attendance and those tuning into the livestream, the Ctrl artist had to cut her set a bit short, a circumstance that likely was due to her late arrival. She promised fans she’ll make it up soon before disappearing into the night and making way for Friday’s headliner, The Weeknd.
