“I’m the hottest artist in the city,” proclaimed Tekashi 6ix9ine during this morning’s viral interview with The Breakfast Club. "I’m definitely the hottest artist in the city and I got records to prove it.” Although that can be debated, it’s difficult to overlook the fact that he is one of the culture’s most talked about artists. Due to a couple of hit singles and lots of controversies involving social media and gang culture, the Brooklyn native’s name has been ringing bells in his hometown of NYC. He’s also been a hot topic of discussion around the country with beefs popping up with regional OG’s like The Game and J. Prince Jr.
“Listen, I’m a kid with rainbow hair, right? I’m a kid with rainbow teeth,” he asked Charlamagne tha God, Angela Yee and DJ Envy. “How am I shaking up the industry like I am? This shit is not supposed to happen.” Currently, hip hop’s most infamous character, the notorious 69 also addressed his criminal past, gang affiliations and beefs.
On if he’s a registered sex offender: “Nah, I’m not.”
On why he pled guilty: “I plead guilty like this quick, blood. I was scared, blood. I didn’t have no money. I was poor. Listen, I was rapping, but I wasn’t on some hot shit."
On rumors he went from being a crip to being a blood: “There’s this crew called Scum Gang from Flatbush. I used to run with them, but nobody can say who I’m crip under. Like who was I crip under? Everybody is going to post your pictures of this, this and that. Who was I crip under?”
On why he performed a wrestling called The Pedigree on a female: “I don’t know. I was doing viral shit. I was literally mad immature. I was obviously playing. It went viral. ”
On beef with The Game: “I don’t know, man. This man is 40. He got a family. He got kids, right? Why he not taking care of his kids? Yo blood, he worried about the wrong things. His career - he’s trying to spark it like an old marriage. He tryna spark it up. It’s over, blood. Hang it up. What you doing?”
