Chance the Rapper has been selected as this year’s recipient of the Innovator Award at the iHeart Music Radio Awards. The 24-year-old rapper is set to be presented with the honor Sunday evening (March 11) during the fifth-annual iHeartMedia-hosted award ceremony.

The award speaks to Chance’s achievements in music and philanthropy with the company stating he is the evening’s chosen honoree for his “groundbreaking accomplishments in the music industry and for his unsurpassable contributions to social causes.”

From setting up free screenings of landmark films such as Black Panther and Malcolm X to his non-profit SocialWorks receiving $1 million grant from Google to help fund coding classes for the youth, the Chicago rapper has long been dedicated to giving back to his community, and the best part is, his hard work is starting to pay off in an impactful, tangible way.

In addition to honoring Chance the Rapper, nominees for the 2018 iHeart Music Awards include Bruno Mars, The Weeknd, Migos, Kendrick Lamar, Drake, Future and the evening’s co-host, DJ Khaled, among others.

The award show, which will take place at The Forum in Los Angeles, will also see performances from the likes of Cardi B, Ed Sheeran, Camila Capello and more.

The star-studded ceremony airs Sunday night (March 11) via TBS, TNT and truTV at 8pm ET/5pm PT, as well as will be broadcasted on iHeartMedia radio stations across the country and via the iHeartRadio app.
