Frank Ocean, Diddy, DJ Khaled, and Quavo get creative with encouraging voter participation

See how these artists gave back to those who voted in the 2018 Midterm elections.

With the 2018 Midterm elections in full swing, members of the hip-hop community are doing everything they can to encourage eligible voters to get out of the house and cast a ballot.

Last night (Nov. 5), Sean "Diddy" Combs, DJ Khaled, Fat Joe and Quavo, among others, joined forces to perform at a rally supporting Florida gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum. The Bring It Home rally took place at Florida A&M University's Lawson Center and was the candidate's final in-person opportunity to raise wide support before the polls opened up on Tuesday.

Gillum has been publicly endorsed by several major players in the entertainment and music industry. Rihanna, Meek Mill, Wale and Trina are among those who have used their platforms to showcase their support for the candidate and current mayor. If Gillum wins against Republican Ron DeSantis, he will become the first black governor in Florida's history, as well as will become the first Democrat to assume the post in more than two decades.

In addition to a handful of hip-hop's elite using their musical talents and social media influence to encourage voter participation, others such as Frank Ocean are looking to give back to those who voted.

As announced during a morning installment of his blonded radio show on Apple Music's Beats 1 and advertised on his Tumblr page, Ocean is rewarding those who can prove they voted this year with a limited edition T-shirt.

The exclusive merch, which will be distributed to voters in Georgia, Florida, Texas and Atlanta, features a design based around a large "42%" representing the percentage of Americans who do not vote.

Take a look at some footage from last night's rally in Florida and check out Frank Ocean's exclusive merch rewarding voters in the posts below.
