A$AP Bari arrested on drug charges in Pennsylvania

The rapper is currently awaiting trial in a sexual assault case.

A$AP Bari has reportedly been arrested on felony drug charges.

According to reports, the rapper, born Jabari Shelton, was pulled over after police noticed a 2018 Mercedes driving the wrong way. Upon smelling marijuana, the pilice searched the car and discovered "24 circular tins of marijuana."

He has since been allegedly been charged with with two counts of manufacturing, delivery or possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute. He also was reportedly hit with misdemeanors including possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance.

He was reportedly released from Northampton County Prison after posting a $25,000 bail. According to TMZ, Bari told the police the weed was for personal use. In addition to what was found in his car, police allegedly found three more tins of marijuana hidden in his underwear.

The arrest marks the latest in a series of ongoing legal issues for the rapper.

Back in August, he filed a defamation suit against a woman who accused him of sexual assault in July 2017. Per Bari's filed court documents, he's arguing the woman was in the wrong, claiming she engaged in "defamation and civil extortion for allegedly pressuring him into settling."

The woman previously sued the rapper last November. Her lawyer referred to Bari's cross complaint as "specious." TMZ also noted that prosecutors in the UK are still moving forward with a criminal case against him for allegedly raping her.

Back in September, Kanye West vocalized his support for the A$AP Mob co-founder.

"Bari I appreciate your perspective and vision," he wrote in a series of tweets. "You brought me closer to Rocky too. Jedis never let perception and cancel culture get between them."

West did not mention the video footage that had surfaced. In the graphic video, Bari where he can be found berating a naked and visibly distressed woman. Bari later addressed the leaked video, referring to it as "misleading."
