Frank Ocean has built a reputation for being notoriously private, a quality that his diehard fans may view as both an admirable but bittersweet personal choice.

However, the multi-hyphenate recording artist appears to have had a change of heart when it comes to one social media platform in particular: Instagram.

On Thursday (Nov. 15), out of the blue, Ocean decided to make his private @blonded Instagram account public, sending his fans into an absolute frenzy.

To accompany the decision, the New Orleans native posted a greeting in the form of a shirtless mirror selfie, saying hello to fans with a simple “welcome” caption.

The elusive artist first made an Instagram account in May 2017 but (naturally) choose to be extremely selective about who he let follow him. Now, with his account settings set to public, over half a million people and counting have since smashed the follow button.

Much like his coveted Tumblr account, Ocean’s Instagram account is carefully curated to follow his aesthetic, which ranges from everything to his fashion choices, his taste in art, his love for his mom, a tattoo for his dog who passed and the occasional glimpse into his world as a musician.

One post dated in January 2018 was captioned, “I miss playing live.” Naturally, fans actively seeking clues have already placed that one in the column serving as evidence that the artist is working on returning to the stage and the studio alike.
