Travis Scott's approach to performing at Saturday Night Live was a little bit different than Kanye West's recent performance, to say the very least.

For the rapper's first-ever time performing on the famed show, the Houston rapper enlisted the help of John Mayer, Tame Impala's Kevin Parker and producer Mike Dean, forming a supergroup fans didn't know they needed until now.

During the appearance, Scott performed a medley of hits from his acclaimed Astroworld album, including "Skeletons," "Astrothunder" (a first for the rapper's live arsenal) and the crowd favorite "Sicko Mode."

He performed the latter while upside down, keeping in line with both his album's theme park concept and in his incredible production value as a performer.

Earlier this summer, Astroworld debuted at the Billboard 200 back in August, earning him second career No. 1.

In addition to Scott's performance, this weekend's episode was hosted by rapper and actress Awkwafina, becoming the second Asian American woman to host the show in its 44-season run. Lucy Liu became the first to host the show 18 years ago, something that Awkwafina addressed with gratitude during her personal opening monologue.
