Grammys 2018: Kendrick Lamar shouts out Sean “Diddy” Combs, calls for JAY-Z to run for president

The Compton rapper’s acceptance speeches never disappoint.

As further exemplified during the 60th annual Grammy Awards, Kendrick Lamar has long mastered the art of the acceptance speech.

Sunday evening's awards (Jan. 28) provided the Compton rapper with two opportunities to get behind the podium, televising two of his acceptance speeches, for Best Rap Album and Best Rap/Sung Performance alongside Rihanna. This year, Lamar took home five awards total out of his impressive seven nominations.

While accepting the award for Best Rap Album, as presented by the legendary Dave Chappelle, Lamar's speech included showing respect to the likes of JAY-Z, Nas and Sean "Diddy" Combs, as well as calling for Hov to run for president.

"I got a lot of guys in this building right now that I still idolize to this day," the DAMN. rapper said. "Jay-Z, Nas, Puff, you know, these guys showed me the game through their lyrics from close and from afar. So with that being said this trophy for hip-hop. That's love baby. Real talk. Jay for President."

Yup, speak it into existence.

Prior to the awards, JAY-Z's recent interview with CNN's Van Jones got everyone talking, including Donald Trump.
