Complex had big shoes to fill after Joe Budden left his role as co-host of the talk show Everyday Struggle with Nadeska Alexis and DJ Akademiks, but for Season 2 of the show, Budden has been replaced him with another radio personality known for his controversial opinions: Star.

Star was originally the cohost of the Star and Bucwild Show, one of the original shock jock radio shows in hip-hop culture. The Star and Bucwild Show blared the airwaves of Hot 97 and Power 105.1 FM in years past, with Star regularly getting into it with artists of the time. On the first episode of Everyday Struggle Season 2, Star referred to himself as “the father of trolling.”

Everyday Struggle was initially a show that had Joe Budden and DJ Akademiks debating the ins and outs of the music industry, with Nadeska Alexis as the moderator. The show built a loyal following, both for its commentary and for several viral moments – Budden arguing with Lil Yachty, Vic Mensa telling Akademiks that he wanted to fight him, and of course, Budden abruptly ending an interview with Migos.

In late 2017, Budden and Complex parted ways when it was time to renew Budden’s contract. He has since said that he is in talks to work with REVOLT TV, though he and Sean “Diddy” Combs have denied rumors of a $5 million deal.

On the first episode of Everyday Struggle Season 2, Star and DJ Akademiks discuss the new Drake project Scary Hours, Kodak Black’s arrest, and more.
