While fans are still anxiously awaiting an official confirmation or a formal statement confirming the news, it has been reported that Chicago drill rapper, Fredo Santana, has died at the age of 27.

The music community has begun posting tributes on social media, with Drake, Maxo Kream, Lil Durk, Travis Scott, Lil B and more all taking to Twitter and Instagram to begin processing the news and express their condolences to his friends and family, including to his cousin Chief Keef.

Although details regarding his reported death have not yet been confirmed, Fredo, born Derrick Coleman, has previously spoken about his battle with his health after being rushed to the hospital with liver and kidney failure back in October 2017, adding that he "wouldn't wish this on [his] worst enemy."

Following the initial hospitalization, he posted on Twitter that he was considering going to rehab to get additional help, writing, "I was running from my old life tryna get high didn't want to face them demons… I'm getting help I might just go to rehab."

Shortly after welcoming a baby boy, Legend Derrick Coleman, earlier last summer in June 2017, Fredo posted an image of his sneakers and a bottle of codeine on Instagram, with his followers beginning to advocate he stop sipping lean now that he had greater responsibilities.

The rapper, who went on to collaborate with Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Soulja Boy and Migos since making his debut in 2013 with Trappin Ain't Dead, had to push back his most recent project, a collaborative mixtape with Chief Keef, Turbo Bandana, as a result of his fall hospitalization.

At the time of this report, fans are waiting for an official update from his family, with a close friend reportedly confirming the news Fredo has passed.
