Machine Gun Kelly is no stranger to film having been cast in both Beyond the Lights and the Nas-produced drama The Land, and having recently contributed to the lead single from Netflix's Bright soundtrack.
Now he's been recruited again by the on-demand streaming service, this time for a major role.
The Cleveland-bred rapper and Bad Boy Records signee will play Motley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee, once famously married to Pamela Anderson, in Netflix's biopic of the band that blended hard rock, glam rock, and heavy metal.
Based on the 2001 autobiography The Dirt: Confessions of the World's Most Notorious Rock Band, the movie will follow the group's rise during the '80s "hair band" rock scene and document their highs and lows along the way.
The rapper reacted the reveal on Twitter, writing:
i got the movie to hire my little bro as my drum teacher. kept it in the family. i WILL learn the drums and finish the new album before we start filming.— colson (@machinegunkelly) January 19, 2018
