The fallout from Hurricane Harvey is far from over. According to reports, it will cost more than the $125 billion paid out for Hurricane Katrina recovery efforts to help the gulf coast convalesce. An unfathomable and uncontrollable 27 trillion gallons of rain fell from the sky during Harvey, resulting in 57 deaths. Around 1 million cars were wrecked and close to 15,000 homes were destroyed. Over 200,000 houses were damaged and an excess of 34,000 people have to be housed in shelters. Obviously one of the most devastated places was Houston, Tx., home of Trae Tha Truth.

Since the disaster, Trae stepped up the plate and offered immediate helped to those displaced and distressed. Trae and his non-profit organization Angel By Nature started a Harvey relief fund called “We Are One,” and have raised around $33,000 of their $250K goal. The fund will be dedicated to helping those in Houston and the Golden Triangle of Port Arthur, Beaumont, and Orange Texas.

Tha Truth himself had to be rescued from his home by friends after the storm left stranded. Not wasting any time, Trae spent the majority of last week and this weekend riding around with the fire department doing water rescues and being active on the ground giving out water, food supplies and school supplies.

“When you go to the trenches or when you go to where the concrete is, a lot of people are still in need in thousands of ways,” “The King of the Streets,” explained to Revolt TV on Saturday in Houston. He had spent hours driving around helping those in need. “In your mind, you’re thinking ‘$10 million got donated here or $5 million got donated here,’ and it’s like, I’m watching and I’m still in need, need, need.’ One thing people know about me is what I’m gonna do when I get a hold of the money because they know what I do with my money for ‘Trae Day’ and everything else. I see a lot of people in need right now. School gonna start back in a week. Kids lost their home so you know they don’t have supplies. They don’t have clothes. We gonna hear all the cries that people tend to turn away or shy away from. We gonna deal with the grimy cries. The cries that are really hurting right now.”

Trae’s organization is also accepting clothing, food, baby items, pet food and supplies. Monetary donations may be made via: https://www.gofundme.com/traethatruthweareonehurricaneharvey
