Chance the Rapper to introduce the Twilight Awards in Summer 2018

He also raised over $2 million for Chicago schools.

After donating and raising money for Chicago's Public Schools system, Chance the Rapper plans to honor the people who keep the city's schools together.

During his SocialWorks Summit Vol. 1 event, Chance unveiled his plans for the inaugural Twilight Awards.

“In June of 2018, the city of Chicago will host the first-ever annual Twilight Awards, highlighting teachers, parents, principals, and students that convey leadership,” Chance said towards the end of the summit.

Hosting duties for the very first Twilight Awards ceremony, which is slated to feature a slew of as-of-yet-unannounced special guest appearances, will be handled by The Late Late Show’s James Corden.

Held at the Harold Washington Cultural Center, located on the Southside of Chicago, the SocialWorks summit is where it was revealed that more than $2 million had been raised by the Coloring Book rapper’s initiative. As many as 20 schools located throughout Chance’s hometown of Chicago will receive portions of the funds collected.
