They say you got to fake it till you make it. For Bow Wow, that saying has become a linchpin in his career as of late.

To quickly recap, there was that time he posted pics of a Ferrari that he mentioned was his, until the rental company shouted him out for borrowing their vehicle. Can’t forget about the time he attempted to recall the origin of dabbing. Now the rapper gives the internet yet another hilarious moment.

On May 8th, the Columbus, OH native became the subject for jokes, memes, and another #challenge after falsifying a photo on Instagram. As it goes, Bow Wow shared a picture on Instagram showing off a private plane and luxury vehicles with the following caption, “Travel day. NYC press run for Growing Up Hip Hop. Lets gooo.” Unfortunately for the rapper, a couple eagle-eyed observers straightened out some facts and uncovered that the pic was not actually Bow Wow’s photo.

A quick Google search of the image on Bow Wow’s IG lead to MIA VIP Transportation, which is located in Florida, describes itself as “an executive group transportation company,” and as of this writing “permanently closed.” So not only was the image a stock photo, but a person, who apparently shared a flight with the rapper, also took a photo of Bow Wow on a commercial plane on the day off. “So this guy Lil Bow Wow is on my flight to NY,” @Al_Khee wrote on social media. “On Instagram he posted a picture of a private jet captioned ‘traveling to NY today’ smh.” All things considered, this was no good look at all.

Because we live in a world where the internet remains undefeated, fans online responded with the following meme we have before us today… drum roll, the #BowWowChallenge. Posting a series of deceptive aspirational images, social media had a field day at Bow Wow’s expense.

In response to the jokes, Bow Wow made an appearance on Hot 97’s “Ebro in the Morning” and addressed the infamous post, noting that there’s a method behind the madness. “I love it because people don’t understand the scientific method to my madness,” he stated. “They really don’t understand the scientific method to my madness. Number one, I’m about to have the biggest show on We TV, period. Period. I’m saying that right now.”

Further on he revealed that in understanding this “tactic” will require watching his new show on We TV, “Growing Up Hip-Hop Atlanta.”

“You gotta just watch the show,” he said. “Everything is for the show.”
