Joey Bada$$'s first-week sales are in

Joey has another top 5 Billboard debut, but the numbers may disappoint some.

Joey Badass's new album performed slightly worse than his first, but it's still another top five placement for the Brooklyn rapper.

Billboard reports that All-Amerikkkan Badass, Joey's sophomore album, sold 51,000 album equivalent units in its first week, with 28,000 of those being traditional album sales.

Those numbers are a few thousand less than his 2015 debut album B4.Da.$$, which sold 58,000 units in its first week. But both albums debuted at no. 5 on the Billboard 2000 album chart. His sociopolitical content may have hurt the first week sales, but the All-Amerikkkan Badass single "Devastated" has earned a gold plaque, making it his highest-selling single.

All-Amerikkkan Badass has accessible choruses and sounds to go along with his political stances, so only time will tell how the album does from here on out.

It's suspected that the numbers are disappointing due to the album's lack of commercial content.
